The Keeping Safe: Child Protection Curriculum (KS:CPC) is required for all children and young people in our school. It’s taught each year by teachers who have completed a full-day KS:CPC training course.
It teaches children to:
- recognise abuse and tell a trusted adult about it
- understand what touching is appropriate and inappropriate
- understand ways of keeping themselves safe.

Special Classes
At Swallowcliffe, we are passionate about empowering all students to engage in learning. We are proud to host 3 Department for Education Special Classes, providing specialised education for students with identified disabilities from Reception to Year 6.
Our 2 Junior Primary classes cater for students in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 with a class size of 8 students, staffed by 1 Teacher and 1 School Services Officer.
Our Primary class caters for students in Years 3,4,5 and 6 with a class size of 12 students, staffed by 1 Teacher and 1 School Services Officer.
Learning in our special classes is adapted from the Australian Curriculum with a particular focus on literacy, numeracy and personal/social capabilities, and is tailored to individual student needs. Each student has an individual learning plan (One Plan) where learning goals and adjustments are documented. One Plans are shared with families/guardians during interviews in Term 1 and are reviewed and adjusted regularly throughout the year.
Students in our Special Classes are valued members of our school community and participate in yard play and all school events with their mainstream peers.
Please note that placement in Special Classes is managed by the Department for Education Support Services NOT by the school. To be eligible for consideration of Special Education Options, students must be assessed and recommended by Department for Education Psychologist and Inclusive Educator. A centralised panel process then determines student placements. Please contact your current Preschool/School or Education Office for more information about this process.
